In August 2019, Mark retired from Prudential as vice chairman and member of the board of directors. He currently serves as board chair of the Global Impact Investing Network. He led Prudential’s Strategic Initiatives, Finance, Risk, Investment, Actuarial, Technology, Social Responsibility and Marketing Communications functions. He joined Prudential as chief financial officer in 1995. In 2002 he was named vice chairman, following the company’s initial public offering in 2001. Before Prudential, he was co-head of Chase Global Markets and an Executive Vice President of The Chase Manhattan Bank. Prior to that, he was Senior Vice President of Lincoln First Bank. He began his career at Lincoln in 1978 as an economic analyst. He has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in economics from Eastern Illinois University, and an MBA in finance and accounting from The University of Rochester.
